Call me an old soul. Call me a sit-in-the-corner, hold-a-journal, emotionally-bleeding kind of poet, but I’ve been thinking about the middle of things lately.

A lot of times we think of point B. When we’re stuck at point A. It’s always, “do this,” “be that.” But what happens before we become “that?”

A friend of mine told me life is a journey. That’s one of those cliche sayings you usually find in the folds of a processed wafer cookie, but that doesn’t make it any less true.

I always thought life was about being who you want to be. But now I think maybe it’s becoming who you want to be.

The emphasis is on the middle of things. The emphasis is on what it takes to get to the end.

If we have the courage to even begin.
